Selena Marie Gomez (/s@'li:n@ 'goUmez/ s@-LEE-n@ GOH-mez; born July 22, 1992) is an American singer, actress, and producer. Gomez started her acting career in 2002 in the children's TV series Barney & Friends. She became famous as Alex Russo, a teenage character in the Disney Channel television show Wizards of Waverly Place (2007-12). Gomez also appeared in several films that included Another Cinderella Story (2008) and Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie (2010). She also played in Ramona and Beezus (2010) and Spring Breakers (2012). She was also a voice actor for Mavis in Hotel Transylvania (2012-2022). Gomez is the executive producer for the Netflix television series 13 Reasons Why (2017-2020) and Living Undocumented (2019) through her production company, July Moon Productions. She also executive produces and appears in the HBO Max cooking series Selena + Chef (2020-2022) as well as the Hulu comedy series Only Murders in the Building (2021-present). The latter has earned Gomez not only praise from the critics but also nominations for an Golden Globe Award, and as a producer, a Primetime Emmy Award .Gomez released three albums with her group, Selena Gomez & the Scene and the Scene, which all reached the top ten of the US Billboard 200 and were certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA): Kiss & Tell (2009), A Year Without Rain (2010) and Sun is Down (2011). Her debut solo album, Stars Dance (2013) was a top album on the U.S. Billboard 200, while its first single, "Come & Get It" made it to the top ten of the US Billboard Hot 100. Gomez's second studio album Revival (2015) which debuted at number one in the US and was certified platinum by RIAA and produced three US top-ten entries: "Good for You", "Same Old Love", "Hands to Myself". Her third studio album, Rare (2020), has been her third consecutive number one in the US as well as its top single, "Lose You to Love Me" was the first single to reach number one across the US and Canada.
